|BWM/Victory pair and issue letter and Memorial Plaque plus 4 French Silver 50 Centime coins to 15639 Pte. Arthur Sowery 15/West Yorks R. (Sowry on Plaque). B.E.Leeds K.I.A. F &F 09/01/1917. Buried Sailly-au-Bois Mil Cem. The coins are accompanied by a letter dated 15/04/1920 from the War Office addressed to Mrs Firth, 1 Bright Terrace, Main Rd, Armley, Leeds saying that the coins were received in a consignment of effects received from Germany and it is further presumed that Sowery was buried by the Germans near Lempire south west of Cambrai. The letter further states that the CWGC was still searching for his remains.
